Madheshi Mahila Samaj
Nepal is politically in the phase of transition. Nonetheless, social, economic, educational, religious and psychological issues are rendered unsolved. Madhesi communities' issues are still unaddressed and they are revolting against the state callousness. It is not difficult to imagine that the situation of Madhesi women where men are still struggling for identity and inclusion.
Keeping it in mind to work for the welfare of Madhesi Women, Madhesi Mahila Samaj Nepal (MMS) is established and registered in Nepal Social Welfare Council in Nepal. This organisation is non-political, non-governmental and established for the sole purpose of empowering the women in Madhesh whose social situation (economic, education, religious) is far worse than the average Nepali women.
The aim of this organisation is to work collectively for the welfare and upliftment of Madhesi women, community and local area development by empowering the women through awareness raising and capacity enhancement programmes.
MMS Nepal is committed to work for strengthening the dalits (Untouchables), deprived and excluded women to change and improve the economic, social and political status in all over Nepal by organising massive awareness raising campaign. MMS would formulate the strategy and carry out the programs with the suggestions, sharing and needs of the grassroots women.
